"We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike."
Maya Angelou, American poet
Kayden Mulrooney is a documentary photographer, videographer, and storyteller studying Visual Journalism & Photography and Political Science at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Kayden has a fondness for stories that showcase the priceless differences that make us human. As poet Maya Angelou once said, "We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike." That message has been the driving force behind Kayden's work since she first heard the quote in high school.

Community is a value Kayden holds very near and dear to her heart, and makes her ever the more passionate for what she does. As a queer woman, she wants to challenge people to see the humanity in others, no matter how different they are from themselves.

When she’s not clicking buttons on her camera, Kayden can be found thrifting for cool jackets or looking for tickets to her favorite artist’s next concert.

Her favorite holiday is New Year’s Eve. She's been to three KISS concerts (yes, the 80s rock band). Her car's name is Pearl. And she has more than 100 playlists on Spotify, but who’s counting?

Kayden currently works as a the Web Visuals Editor for the Talisman Magazine, previously worked as a Digital Storyteller with the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs, and will spend her summer as a Photography Intern for the Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer.
